Also, vehicles with lane change/ blind spot assist systems fail to warn drivers despite their being oncoming traffic. The system throws false warnings despite there being no obstruction/ traffic in the vicinity of the vehicle. Collision avoidance system- Though NHTSA has only a couple of issues reported, the faulty collision avoidance system on the Buick Encore GX has been one issue that has been bugging many users.No official response has been released on this issue yet. At least one crash has been recorded against this issue by the NHTSA. Owners also experience loss of brake assist when this happens. Steering- A few owners have complained about the steering wheel on the Buick Encore GX getting unexpectedly locked while driving as if the vehicle were switched off.Though it is a common issue among owners, the automaker is yet to acknowledge this complaint. Some owners complain about the system completely failing to engage/ or work while others complain about the car intermittently failing to switch back on when pressing the throttle pedal at a stoplight. Start/stop system- Though not officially recognized by the NHTSA, the Buick Encore GX is prone to faults with the start/stop system.Though the dealers point out a faulty battery for this issue and replaced it, the actual root cause was not traced. The infotainment system, air conditioning, and power steering are all said to lose functionality when this happens. Electrical system Power- Multiple owners have complained about the Buick Encore GX randomly shutting off complete electrical systems on the vehicle while driving.The automaker is aware of this issue and did initiate a recall (NHTSA ID-20V588000) to resolve this problem which was caused by a faulty sensor working in conjunction with the electronic brake booster system. One low-speed crash with no injuries has been officially recorded against this issue by the NHTSA.
Multiple owners have complained about the vehicle not shedding speed as expected despite the brake pedal being pressed to the fully extended. Service brake-Service brake failure has been a common issue on the 2020 Buick Encore GX.Even though the dealers are aware of this issue, the automaker is yet to release a statement on it. Surprisingly, most vehicles with these complaints had less than 5,000-miles on them.
This occurs due to a variety of reasons including a faulty emission system, fuel management system, or engine misfiring. Random check engine light illumination is one complaint that stands out in numbers.
